Wisdom Teeth Removal
Most people have their wisdom teeth, or “third molars,” erupt between age 16 and 20. Oftentimes there isn’t enough room in the mouth for these teeth, and this can cause some serious oral issues.
While we can handle some minor tooth extractions in our office, we don’t have oral surgeons in our office. We do partner and refer out to Colorado Oral Surgery Group and Mile High Dental & Implant Centers for oral surgery services.
Why Do My Wisdom Teeth Need to be Removed?
In some cases, wisdom teeth are fine as they are and do not need to be removed. More often, they can:
- Partially erupt
- Grow sideways
- Remain trapped beneath the gum and bone; commonly referred to as impacted.
When these occur, it can lead to problems like pain, swelling, and infection. They can also cause your other teeth to shift out of alignment.
Choosing an Oral Surgeon
When you visit GVR Dental and Orthodontics, we can help determine whether you need to see an oral surgeon. Depending on which surgery services you may need, we will be able to set you up with the excellent teams at Colorado Oral Surgery Group or Mile High Dental & Implant Centers.
